Remove Points from License in NY

Do you have existing points on your New York driving record? Did you just get notified by your auto insurance company your rates were increasing? Are you facing a license suspension or revocation because of too many points, and the court offered your taking a defensive driving course as a means to keep your license?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then an IPIRP course from Ticket School will be beneficial for you. Our IPIRP course is a six-hour defensive driving class that has been approved by the New York DMV. The benefits people can gain by completing the course could include:

  1. Driver License Points Reduction

There are only a few ways for you to get points removed from your driving record in NY. You can play the waiting game and wait up to four years for the points to fall off, or wait for ten years for drug- or alcohol-related driving offenses. The better way is to complete an IPIRP course, and have up to four points subtracted from the total on your license right away!

  1. Reduces Insurance Rates by 10%

Another benefit of completing an IPIRP course is an automatic 10% reduction on your insurance rates. While this does not stop your insurance company from raising your rates, if you get into an accident or have numerous claims, it will help lower your current rates.

Best of all, the 10% reduction remains in effect for three years. At the end of three years, you simply retake the IPIRP course to reinstate the 10% reduction. New York is one of the few states that offers this added bonus for passing your IPIRP course, so take advantage.

  1. Could Prevent License Suspension or Revocation

While completing an IPIRP course will not halt or stop court proceedings due to infractions, the court may be open to allowing you to complete the course as an alternative to having your license suspended or revoked. Keep in mind, if the court does present this option, the point reduction may not apply.

Prevent License Suspension or Revocation

  1. New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) Accepted

If you apply for a TLC license in NYC, you must complete a defensive driving course. Our IPIRP course qualifies, and it is accepted by the NYC TLC. In addition, the NYC TLC requires all existing taxi and limo drivers to recertify once every three years. Our course is also accepted as part of this continuing education requirement.

  1. Complete the Course on Your Schedule

Our IPIRP course is an online-based program that is mobile-device friendly. You can work on your course at times that best fit your schedule, and you do not have to complete it all in one sitting. However, you do need to complete it within 30 days of registration; otherwise, you will have to start over from the beginning.

Once you complete your course, we will automatically notify the NY DMV and send you the certificate you need for court or to get your 10% insurance discount. To learn more about our IPIRP course, or for assistance enrolling, please feel free to contact Ticket School at (800) 558-9887 today!
