Who needs to take an Illinois Adult Driver Education Course Online?
Anyone that is 18, 19, or 20 years old that has never held a driver license and wants to obtain a driver license in the State of Illinois is required to complete an Adult Driver Education course approved by the Illinois Secretary of State (SOS). To be eligible, you must not have already completed driver education in high school or through a commercial driving school.

State Approved
Our Illinois Adult Driver Education Online course has been reviewed and approved by the Illinois Secretary of State (SOS) and has been licensed to offer this course. That means that when you successfully complete the course we will report your completion to the State of Illinois SOS within 3 business days so that you have the peace of mind knowing that you have satisfied that requirement to get your license. At course completion we report your completion and the SOS will send you an email to open the course completion notification that you can print and take with you, along with the other required information to the Secretary of State’s facility to get your license.

Registering for the Course
Click the “Register” button to get started with the course registration process. You will be required to provide some basic information about yourself (name, email address, phone number, etc.). From there you will be given a login code (for example: John123456IL) that will also be emailed to you. This code is what you use to log in and out of the course as needed. The last step of the registration process is the course payment. You can pay by entering a debit or credit card into our 100% secure payment portal. You will receive a receipt after a successful payment and will be able to taken directly into the course to begin.
Course Details
The Adult drivers education course for Illinois is six hours in length as required by the Secretary of State. The beauty of our course however, is that you do not have to take the full course in one sitting. You can log in and out of the course at your convenience. The course is available 24 hours a day by 7 days a week, from any internet enabled device (including mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets). The course knows the furthest Unit and page you have reached and will pick back up where you last left it. You do not have to use the same device, and there is nothing to download. Just get online using your favorite web browser and you are set to go!
The course consists of 6 units and includes a multiple choice quiz at the end of each unit and a final exam to test your retention of the information. You are given the opportunity to review the unit and retry the quiz if you do not pass on the first attempt. The final exam is 20 multiple choice questions and requires a 70% to pass. You receive 2 attempts to get a passing score.
Course Completion Notification
Once you have successfully completed the course your information will be reported to the Illinois Secretary of State within 3 business days. The Secretary of State’s office will then email you a completion letter that you print off and take with you to the driver’s license office to get your license.
