Our 8-hour aggressive driving / driver improvement course contains the following:
Content Verification:There is no final exam. Instead, we test that you are watching the videos and understanding the course material by requiring you to pass a short multiple-choice quiz at the end of each unit. You are given three attempts to pass each unit quiz.
Identity Verification: You are required to set up 10 identity verification questions when setting up your account. The answers provided to your ID questions are saved. At random points throughout the course, you will be prompted to answer one of your ID questions and your answer must match the answer given at registration. Failing more than 30% of these ID questions in the course can result in disqualification.
Completion Certificate: Upon successful completion of the course (passing the last unit quiz), a certificate of completion will be processed. Unlike the process when you elect to take a 4-hour traffic school course for a ticket, the 8-hour driver improvement / aggressive driving course is typically ordered by a court. You don’t normally have an option of whether to complete the course or not, if you want to keep your license. If you have any questions about whether completing the course will keep a citation and the associated points off your record, we suggest asking the court prior.
We are not the court or judge, so it is very difficult for us to know the specifics of your case since every case is unique. When it comes to ticket and/or point dismissal it is completely up to the court and judge to determine whether a ticket and the associated points will go on your record after you complete the course.
Important: We DO NOT report completions to the court, county, or Florida DHSMV. It is your responsibility to turn in the certificate to the appropriate authority before any appointed deadlines.
Completion of an 8-hour driver improvement course is typically ordered by a court for a number of different reasons. The course may also go by a number of different names depending on the type of citation(s) that you received. The most common reasons that a court or judge will mandate you to take the course include:
- You had another ticket in the past 12 months that you completed the 4-hour Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) course for and rather than take that again, the judge wants you to take the 8-hour course.
- You have one or more tickets that were determined to be aggressive driving, road racing, or road rage. In these situations the court may order you to take an “aggressive driving course”. If this is the case, be sure to select Aggressive Driving when choosing your reason for taking the course during the registration process.
- Due to multiple tickets, the court / judge has ordered the completion of the course to avoid having your license suspended. You may also be in a situation where you failed to meet the court’s requirements previously and your license is already suspended, and you must complete the course as a condition to get your license back.
- You have an attorney assisting with your case and they want you to take the course prior to trial or they negotiated a pre-trial plea bargain with the judge, court, or a probation officer that includes the completion of the course.
IMPORTANT: Some courts / judges may require that the course be taken in person. If you are unsure, we recommend that you verify that an online 8-hour driver improvement / Aggressive Driving course will be accepted prior to registering.
